I think this one is twelve years old. A great composition from Robert Miles (if I'm not wrong). A bit of synth programming and some mixing resulted in the attached version.

I don't know this at all, never having heard it before, but my instant impression was Vangellis  Whatever, this is a very smooth arrangement. Excellent production quality (as usual)  The standard of music on here these days is just amazing  |

Thanks for the links Rony. Well, having had a good all round listen. On balance I think I prefer Mr Moon's latest version to the original Only the guitar is a slightly inferior sound (as you commented). |

I couldn't resist. This is one of those songs that holds a bit of nostalgia for me. It is pretty hard to beat that nostalgia, but I have heard a few remixes that knocked the socks off of me... though I can't remember the names. What everyone else pointed out concerning the guitar is true. - I would have a more knocking kickdrum. -The bassline sounds a little muddy beneath the strings you have going on. It is also slightly muffled compared to the original... as though it is sitting below a pillow; it has more of a stomach growling sound to it. It doesn't have the deep-moog sensation that I like. - The Strings sound really good... especially during the pick-up bridge with the slight staccato. However, their spotlight seems to drown out some other instruments. It's a delicate problem, and I wish I had some EQ tips to help you out here that wouldn't detract from the strings. At first, I was going to knock on the fact that the song doesn't really add anything to the composition. It is almost like you are trying to copy it to a 'T'. Then I realized that this is probably a good exercise that I should probably try sometime with a song that I like. Thanks for the comments. I keep these in mind when mixing other things. It would be interesting to hear other ones excercises and compare the different styles of work. Hmmm... anyone interested in this challenge ?

I had to follow the links to the originals because, although the melody was NOT new to me, I had to refresh my memory.
Very good cover version, excellent sound quality and arrangements.

 I have to laugh. I've heard of Robert Miles but never really paid attention to his stuff...somehow I must have heard this tune, though, 'cause it's familiar as hell. But I had to laugh because while this version was playing, I clicked on the original link and then fast forwarded into the song...the kick drums were totally in sync and the two songs blended together were better than either alone! I agree with the comment about the kick drum needing to be more substantive. I didn't mind the guitar sound at all, and I like your atmospherics much better than the original track's. If the kick drum had more body and oomph to it and the rest of the rhythm were mixed a bit higher in the mix, your version would be my favorite of all three posted here so far. Good job!
