After having done the Autumn Autobahn,I figured a winter version autobahn would be appropriate....it's not winter yet,but I could'nt wait for the next season to unfold,as I was inspired by the array of flourescent bulbs with the daylight glow that I had bought for all my lamps in my apartment. Grin

My apartment is now illuminated with a wintery hue..wow..talk about MOOD lighting!
I hope this little ditty gives you all the feeling of an artic chill in a wintery landscape. Smiley

Again a very catchy intro and a nice buildup.
This song has a good groove, i like songs like that.
The break fits well, is a good contrast with the song, without breaking the mood.

And of course a good production

Another good one !!

Kara,

Changing the mood of a song,by playing on variations of the theme while still being able to come up with a drivable drum track is a difficult thing for me...that being said,I appreciate the kind review-very happy you like it-thanks!

Oren,

Wow....genius Huh...a very kind thing to say-thank you! My Korg still manages to inspire me,but still,I am growing frustrated with being limited to just 5 insert effects, because in alot of instances,I end up using 3 insert effects for just one program patch to get the sound I want...all the more reason to get my hands on Reason 4! Cool

Like the way this moves. Definitely get the feel of the arctic.

One suggestion. How about a 'dusting' of sharp, brittle tinkly sounds occasionally? You have the glaciers and snow, but no ice crystals.

Will,

I actually had some sound effects in mind & between 1:11 & 1:36 I added a piano/synth sound, whereby I tweaked the resonance performance control to get some chirpy sounds, but due to the numerous problems I encountered with distortion,I was very minimal with the volume,in an effort to circumvent any more spikes in volume.
Whenever I use the "talking modulator" effect for a guitar patch,I always run into distortion problems & to make matters worse, this effect(since it's combined with other effects),some of my other tracks share this same effect-since I only have 5 insert effects to work with.
As a result,I ended up spending just as much time re-mixing & mastering as I did writing the material,to resolv the distortion issues that always come up,as it's all a very delicate balance.
Thanks for the comments & the input. Cool

Thom, you’re getting better and better with each upload  wOO

I really liked the part around 1:00 to 1:15.  Great staccato lead with bass and drums – super

Great transition around 1:45.  I loved that part from then to around 3:00.

All I can say is WOW  wOO

Very very progressive !  Cool
I love those variations, it's a real musical journey. You fit so many things into 3' 22"
Very solid structure, smooth transition. Every change makes sense.
Well done

Cheers
