A short track I made a few years ago as an experiment with my first soft sampler, EXSP24. Enjoy!

I hope Moon will listen to this
You're gonna have a big fan here  Wink
You make exactly the type of music he loves.

I would be interested in the technical side of a part of the song.
I'm partically interested in how you make those sweeps which I hear around 1:30

Care to explain a bit  Embarrassed

Thanks! Cheesy It's an old song I made with my previous DAW which was Logic PC based. I switched to Cubase and don't have Logic installed anymore so this has to be from memory, but I did use the EXSP24 a lot on that track and if I recall correctly, most sounds from that song came from a sample set I bought with the sample player itself called 'Xtreme Analog'. This had lots of cool stuff on it and what also helps were the filters of the EXSP24 itself. The sweeps were a preset sound too... not much tweaking going on so I'm afraid I can't claim to be responsible for the sound design of that sound! Cheesy

It's a nice track though and I still like using it as a showcase track. I'd like to redo it though, using a real guitarist and some new sounds. Maybe if some guitar player is interested? Wink

Kara is right. I like this very mush and want more of this stuff!  Wink

I really like music that is made to listen too. For me, this is the kind of music you wish you were on the moon, staring to the beautifull earth and listening to beautifull music...

OK, I was caried away a little bit, but hey... this is great music  Smiley

I'm a big fan indeed !!!

Hi Marc
This is truly ethereal, like floating in a dreamy atmosphere
All sounds are very good quality and appropriate for the mood.
Nice melodies and good variations.

Cheers

You know, what I like best is the FX and panning on the drums.

Woah, those filter sweeps come in pretty loud--so does that sound around 3:24. He he. Always the critical one Grin

Cool stuff! It really would be nice if you could find a guitar player. I'm in the same boat. I'd use more guitar sounds if I had a compatible, competent and reliable collaborator.

Thanks! Yes, I really love guitar (electric, acoustic and bass) but it's one of those sounds that is hard to immitate (not impossible, but to do it correctly on keyboard you have to have so much knowledge of the playing style of those musicians and you have to spend so much work on getting it to sound natural that I mostly give up). I've gotten myself a cheap guitar though and I'm learning a few simple things so my aim is to combine simulation and some real play into what hopefully sounds convincing or at least interesting. Still, a real guitarist can add so much more. I recently did a track with Hovmod from KvR called 'A Man Called Morotto'. I'll upload it soon. He plays some really cool e-guitar lead and e-bass which really lifts the track.

Very pleasant song. Relaxing and dreamy  Cool
Makes me think in some way (mainly the sound of the guitar) to an (excellent) album from klaus schulze : Beyond recall.
Thanks for the trip  Afro

Thanks guys! It's quite an old track (still recorded with Logic when they supported PC's...), but maybe I should take a look at it again, reconstruct it with my current synths and software. My own main problem with this track is that it doesn't have a strong line that connects it all. I love the sounds and rhythms but I feel like it lacks something.

@Magma: I'll check that Klaus Schulze music out!
@Folderol: Never too late to hear that someone likes it! Wink
