Nick, very creative use of that harmonizer effect! Pleasantly unusual, musical, and easy on the ears.

I realy think it could benefit from a better mix plan.
The vocals are disturbed be the rythmic synth, you could try a couple of things.
- Eq the synth in a way that it doesn't clash with the vox
- Put the vox more upfront in the mix. A bit of compression could help allso

Thank you Kara, I like the critique and will visit it this weekend, and see if I might improve the mix with your advice.  You know Im terrible at mastering myself, or mastering period.  I have yet to record anybody but.

Keep practicing and you'll get there  Wink
Also listen to a lot of songs, and I mean listening as listen to the mix, Eq on the different tracks, panning on different tracks. In one word have a technical listen to different songs. You'll pick up some interesting tricks from that

Bird,

..I'm coming in a little late on this, but I wanted to comment because I think you have the bones of a very pretty song here. I like the synth sounds, but it totally competes with the vox. IMO..if you have lyrics in the song, everything else in the song should be subjugated to the vocals..everything else should present the vocals and help them look their best.

As a musician, new to production, I can sympathize, and have also found myself in the position of liking everything I put into the mix..not wanting to lose anything..but I think you will find that if you make plenty of room for the vox, then you will be gaining more than you are losing.

When I get serious about a song I try to imagine how my listener will experience it, and if there are lyrics, I want them super-easy to hear..so you don't have to reach for them--they come to you.
