I started working on this song in april or so. I never really got it sounding the way I wanted it. This final version is pretty close however. Sometimes you have to be patient , I guess.

Wow, I absolutely love this one, especially the victrola/mellotron type strings in the background.  Great tune!!

Martin,

A very nice marriage of synths & acoustic instruments....a top flight production across the board!
Cool

Hey Martin..this is great!

Its amazing to me, when I first clicked your song into my player, I realized how much I have come to expect from you..and you certainly didn't disappoint with this one.

I am particularly fond of the way your voice sits in this mix. These old ears have been around a while, and this one is perfect to me.

Killer! Backing vocals are fantastic. Synth parts are great. Is that some reverse guitar?
I totally dig the way your able to drop out the parts and focus on the voice and then bring it back together. Very impressive work

Thanks a lot, guys. Appreciated.

@ MRT No it's not a reverse guitar. It's a reverse synth sound from the M-tron Pro.

Quite good, although I don't like it as much as some of your other tunes on first listen. I think it's because I'm having a slightly different vocal line or chords in mind. The drums sound a bit...mmh...unprocessed this time which makes the mix sound less professional for me than usual.

Thanks, Tall. Maybe you need to give it a few more spins.

The drums are actually more processed than otherwise ( especially the snare has more compression than I usually use) so that's odd you think they sound kinda unprocessed.

Hmm...I don't think it's just about compression, it's just the way it sounds compared to "professional" CDs I listen to.

Point taken, Tall.
Though that's a very debatable area as far as I'm concerned. I quite often hear professional cd's in which I don't like the drumsound one bit. Often smashed and compressed to smithereens.

So, you might argue your drums sound is not modern but breathing and the modern drum sound is crap...

I wouldn't go as far as that. I'm not saying the modern drumsound is crap.

On the other hand I don't know if an overcompressed drumsound is still modern. A lot of Indie bands nowadays have a very airy and roomy sound. Just depends on what type of music you listen to. Another example for me is Cold Play. Their first two cd's had a very open sound. The third cd, X&Y, sounds awful in my opinion. The drums sound like they were played on cardboard boxes.
