Greetings, I am new to this forum (so be gentle).  I thought I would introduce myself with this tune that I recently put up a first draft on.

Industrial Alchemy (putfile)

It's sort of a driving, soundtrack like experimental piece that is rather breakish, and has some melodic ideas that try not to stay in the same key all the time.  I wrote it using FLStudio 7.0, my JP-8080, and a handful of software synths.  I had a lot of fun with this one.

Hi,

I'm quite keen to hear what you've made, but the website wants me to download an app in order to proceed - whilst I'm sure it's harmless, I'm not prepared to do so.  Any chance of providing a download link?

Cheers.

Sure thing... I just attached it to this message (Cool feature of this forum)!
Thanks for the interest.  However, I had to lower the quality to 128 kbs in order to fit this under 8 megs.

Nice track Northern Fist !
sound quality is very high, everything is very clean and has its space in the mix.
Some darker passages with dissonance but most of the time there are simple melodies. Almost minimalist sometimes.
Thanks for sharing

Thanks, Laguna... I appreciate your comments.

The dissonance, I was shooting for in order to modulate the tune's key and keep things interesting.  Being self taught, it's difficult for me to find and make intelligent modulation/dissonance.

nice track, good production with a good variety of sounds.  I think the beats could have been 'better' whatever that means...

Interesting track with a sort of industrial vibe to it. i liked the clanging percussion and the piano the best. There are some dissonant parts here and there, but it always manages to stay interesting. Liked it.  Smiley

Hi NF,

Yeah, dangerous and sharp music. Always this cinematic feel in your production.
This one could fit easily in a dark sci-fi movie or video game I guess.
There is dramatical tension in it.
As always, a great mastering, I like the large space used by the song.
I would like a more developed melodic lead line with the piano. But this is more a matter of taste.
Great piece, again  Grin

thanks

bye
