...just looking for clues...

« on: December 21, 2009, 05:52:54 AM »

It has taken me the better part of two years to learn to work effectively with open-source audio software, and it's finally a complete package.
Anything I could do with Windows, I can now accomplish with Linux wOO
Today I began transferring files from NTFS formatted hard drives to EXT3 (Linux) formatted drives, and once this is completed the old drives can be re-formatted and my Windows computer loaded with one of the music-specific Linux operating systems.

As you guys know (well ... you should!) I've been a fan of Linux for many years. I refuse to do business with Microsoft for a number of reasons ... life is too short to list them all.

It's really nice to hear that yet another professional has made the switch!

Oren, could you do a little list here (or as a text document on your site) of the software you were and are now using? Might make the switch easier for the next fellow.

Have fun!

Good to hear mate! It's an effort at first, but then so is anything worthwhile.

@bvdp
Very good idea. It would be interesting to see the comparisons and migration routes.
