This particular model of mixer from Behringer,is probably the most exciting mixer I can imagine,as the list of features are a mile long, without any added expense over the previous line of Xenyx mixers of the same class.
One of the key features for me,would be the 4 band EQ...something you would rarely find in a mixer under $300...and of course the seamless USB connectivity is a thrilling concept!
The most astonishing features of this mixer, are the included software programs, which are Audacity and the EnergyXT2.5 workstation software package!
The EnergyXT2.5 incorporates audio/midi functionality, effects,a drum machine and virtual analog & phase modulation synthesizers.
I suspect that the quality of the instruments are entry level, but having the option of including VST plugin's into the mix, makes this the most desirable mixer in it's class.
I am equally skeptical of the quality of the built in effects on the mixer itself-but the fact that this new model has included a tap tempo function,I am hopeful that at least some of the built in effects are useful.
