Yep a new tread to start the year 2010. The idea for this came to me following a remark of Folderoll in the jamroom section These sessions are proving to be very instructive as well, I'm getting to use chord patterns I'd never have thought of myself.
So I was thinking why not posting some song ideas. The rules for this tread, if you want to participate the ideas you have : Everything you post here must be your proper creation and completely copyright free.Let's start with this one : Bossa GalsAn easy song but with a lot of possibilities to improvise. k

For those of us who prefer to perform rather than write, would a soundclip be appropriate...?

Even more Hmmm. No way are you getting out of at least writing down the chords - trying to pick them out of played music is a nightmare

There is a songwriting technique called (by some people) "ghosting", which involves selecting an established song that contains the elements you want to include in your song, and then building upon that idea. For instance, I want to write a funny song about the problems inherent in alcohol consumption, so I found an old punk song called "Drugs In My Pocket" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXARaoXHYMI - that sounds a bit like what I have in mind. Here is a sample of the bass and drum track that came from that process, and now I'll present this basic idea in our "collaboration" section and see where it goes.

Count me in, buddy .... I got some ideas straight off James James, Ideas is what we're all about! I hope you will keep a version of the project active in Reaper and render your own production when the dust clears Will, Any "jump-and-holler" vocals coming our way from your neck of the woods ?

Getting a little confused now. This thread seems to be doubled up, and there's a PDF at the start of Rony's tune that I don't remember seeing. I would think I was going crazy, but that's impossible - I've been crazy for decades

As for the PDF file, how could you have examined Kara's song idea without opening that file, I wonder... ?
