The theme for the month, over there, is 'free-for-all'.
I'm not happy, as I feel that the whole point of the contest is to rise to the challenge of the set theme. It is a philosophy of learning, where the theme can inspire and make possible an 'out of the box' attitude, to stretch and enhance the musical spectrum.
So many entrants, this month, seem to be using this theme as a 'showcase' to dredge up songs they have already created and which they feel are of their best.
I feel that this is like 'cheating'. If I took that attitude I would be inflicting my own opinion on everyone else.
So.....I've set myself a number of challenges!
This piece has to be taken very much 'tongue in cheek', but I've learned a lot from the experience.
Here we have, for your fun and enjoyment…..
