Has anyone created a utility yet that can read midifiles and generate MMA groove files or sections?

You might want to look at the ys2mma utility on the website. It's in "helpers" in the conversions section. The yamaha style files are actually MIDI files, but it a restricted format.

If you want to take the rhythm out of a song-like midi file, this might be a good start for you to develop your own program Smiley

Shout if you need help!

And don't forget that you can include entire extant MIDI files on a track by track basis using MIDIINC.
