I haven't posted in a while, but I've been stuck with work and looking for a new college...

It's times like these when I wish I had a real instrument on hand to play...  The song is basically melodic+emotional pop with retro-80s material thown in for interest purposes (I can't sing, nor do I have a mic).

The title of the song is reflected in the three phases of the song (verse, mid-chorus ,chorus)...

Mind Soul and Body

I wrote this one to my girlfriend.  I'm 21 and she is the first girlfriend I've ever had (and I pray the last).

First off; downloading this file takes forever, I only managed to hear half of it. You might consider to join the free hosting package of Kara-Moon.

Very eighties sounding track with lots of verb on the snare. If that's the thing you're going for then you did a fine job. To my ears it sounds a bit dated though. Which takes nothing away from the solid musicianship in the track.

Hi Northern Fist, I agree with Martin, there are many 80ish sounds in this track, most of all drums...
but also modern sounds , I like the screaming lead at 4.40
Many good melodies in it, and small variations keepin it interesting. Well done

Cheers

Hi Northern Fish,

You managed to make a great song, but I agree with Martin: you're music deserves better hosting  Wink

Anyway, stick with you're girlfriend because the combination of the 2 of you seems to be working!

Hi North,

you take some perpendicular way these last times  Grin

I liked the mood of it. It has a kind of heavy rock/classical mix that I liked. A kind of post symphonic rock  Wink

There is some moment where there was too much high and mid freqs that sounded a bit too bright and metalic before 02:30'.

It seems that you used a kind of ePiano a bit distorded. I would like it less distorded to separate it better from other sounds. A matter of taste maybe.

The orchestration and arrangements are amazing. Great one!

thanks!

bye

Thanks everyone.  I am doing some overhauls with the mixer to polish it up a bit.

I agree with what the others have said. Very nice work, but a shame there was really too much distortion in places. In addition I like the way you handled the percussion, solid, but not overplayed - I'm total crap with perc Sad
