Who? Me?

WWW
« on: July 26, 2007, 06:57:18 PM »

I've only been making submissions to the music cafe for a few months, and i see others have put their efforts up here so I thought I'd do so to. This one is completely unique for me as I actually sing in it. I also got DQd for uploading twice  Undecided

It was a very peculiar and spooky feeling doing this, as this is the first time I've heard my own voice recorded! It would seem I can't hold pitch very well!

This is also in a style I tend to refer to as 'dum-ching' or in this case 'dum-ching-ching'. Sort of fairground or holiday camp music. Just a bit of fun, and I do like playing with counter melodies, as you'll hear in the second verse.

If you have a poem, I have a tune, and we exchange these, we can both have a poem, a tune, and a song.

A good old doum-cha-cha waltz
I didn't hear such one since years.
Very well done, I had a big smile on my face when I listened to it.

I know how you feel, young man.....I made my vocal debut in last months KVR contest...as a joke...and gained #8 in the voting!!!  Huh
Such a strange world we live in.
So....I know exactly what you mean about the 'spooky' feeling of hearing ones own voice!

Thanks for the support. My efforts have been well received on KVR as well, it seems, as here which is very encouraging.

I'm not intending to immediately write acres of song-sheets, but it's nice to know that if something really appeals to me I could make a sensible recording Smiley

Incidentally, on a minor technical note. I used a rather battered no-name electret mic fed into a home-made two transistor preamp in a tobacco tin, connected direct to the line inputs of an M-Audio 2496 card Smiley
