This is a slightly different version than I uploaded on the PGMusic site.  I’ve added some effects, redid the sax part and remixed the song.

I hope you like it.

o boy do I love that style, I could listen to those songs the whole day.

Constructive criticism  Undecided
I'm married with a sax playing lady  Roll Eyes When she heard the first sax riff, she said to me 'yikes... sounds like a sax player running after a bus he missed'  Grin
Now, my lady is Breton (basically the same as Celtic) and those people are know for there strait forward expressions, which you have to take with a bit of pragmatism...
But I must say that I agree somehow with here, all other sax riffs are very smooth and fit perfectly well with the song, but that first one... well , you decide

Mario,

You and Mick are in the running for coolest synthetic sax sound. Your phrasing and smooth execution bring the performance to life. Good guitar, too!

How's your flute chops  Grin ?

Kara, that is the kind of constructive criticism I’m looking for.  One can’t move forward it one doesn’t know what’s right or wrong!

I’m glad you and her brought this out.  I had a lot of sax fills in the song; I have a propensity to add a lot of stuff to my songs, then I sift and sort everything down to the final cut.   I originally had taken out all of the sax rifts.  Then I decided to leave just this one. Believe it or not it was the best one!  I shouldn’t have second-guessed myself!

If you want I’ll send it up without the first sax rift – MarioD

PS – Tell you lady thanx!

Good idea, why don't you a smooth one like in the rest of the song

Mick wins that one hands down!  He’s a sax player.  I’m a guitarist trying to emulate a sax player.  BIG difference.

Actually I’ve done a lot more flute leads than sax leads!  I’m a big fan of Herbie Mann.

Thanx Oren - MarioD

This is a very smooth, full arrangement. Excellent guitar work, well toned background choir and all the other 'detail' fit in extremely well. I wouldn't know much about sax playing but it sounds good to my uneducated ears.

Although I’ve been told to turn it up onstage I’m not sure about a tame guitarist!

The only sedate drummer I’ve ever seen was a box that had “rhythm king” stamped on it  Grin

Thanx for listening - MarioD

Hello,

I've always loved this song & I must say this is the only version I have ever heard
(aside from the original),that I really like & I am very enchanted by it. Cool

Although the sax was played well,I have heard better synthetic sax sounds & a better sample of a sax synth sound would really do this song justice,I think.

Aside from that,I really enjoyed this song. Smiley

Thanx Elwood, that was very kind.  I’m really encouraged by this!

You’re right about the sax.  It was a free soundfont!  But it was the best fit that I had.

SO, if anyone wants to add a better sax part feel free to sent me a PM.  I’ll send you a MP3 sans the sax and you can polish it off - MarioD
