I posted at PG forum for some feedback on my first try at mixing live music. I've gotten none so far...
I got my Firepod last week & set it up to record the trio I play in.
It was pretty neat! (yes I said neat)
I'm disappointed that the gain is not what I thought it would be, but made do & used my Crate mixer for the Shure SM58's (2)
Sytnhophone into inputs 1&2 (VL70m & XV2020)
Guitar into input 4 from Loren's Peavey line out.
Joe's Bass & Drum machine into input 5. (drum machine didn't produce enough volume alone so we did line out from the bass amp with the drum machine into it)
Vocals to input 7 panned (R) & 8 panned (L) via the Crate mixer.
Everything into PT11. What a great program!!!!
We recorded 6 songs. No overdubs, no 2nd takes. Just how we would play live. Just to see how it would come out.
We're going to use snippets of these on the web site. (since there are some glitches)
lorenjoe.com (this isn't the site where the songs are)I'd be interested in any critiques of the mix. I didn't do too much...a little panning & some reverb.
5 band EQ, TripleComp, PG PeakLimit & Classic Master Limiter.
The songs, if anyone care to offer comments, are at the bottom of my music page.
mickemery.com Thanks for everyone's help so far.
