This is the first and absolute raw version of the song Elvira, which Ray Thigpen requested on the PG-forum. He wanted to hear this one with lots of musicians and lots of vocal harmonys, so please join. As I had never heard of this song before Ray posted his request, I looked it up on youtube and it seemed a fun project to do. To keep the speed up I directly went working on it tonight, and the file attached is raw as raw can be....not even mixed, produced or whatever yet; just merged all channels to a wav and that's it for the moment. Just to give an idea.... Please join in on this project with whatever you want (producing etc. included!!)
Mike

Great Rahrv and Kara! I'd be honoured! All parts are open for playing, so pick your choise and we can replace the BiaB-parts with real tracks. That goes for all vocal parts too; just join in and we'll make a nice harmony out of all the vocals. Ehm....comes another thing....how?.....Since this is my first online coop I haven't got the faintest idea how things are done normaly. Do we post .cpr or .seq files, or do we just post .mp3's with single tracks (wet or dry) Personaly I think it mp3's containing one single track (dry) would be best. Just let me know Mike

MP3 isn't a real good solution. Troubles with mp3 is that, when you convert to wav, the conversion introduces leading silence which makes syncronising tracks difficult.
Good alternatives are flac or ape, both available on the internet for free.

Mike can you upload the biab file here, will avoid loosing time to figure the chords It sounds pretty simple in C, but did i hear there an odd Bb chord ? It sounds allso as it goes up half a tone a couple of times near the end ?

Thanks Kara, I'll dig into that. I tried to attach the BiaB-file for all to work with, but the site wouldn't let me upload a .sgu file? So instead I uploaded a midi-file made with BiaB.

okido thx 2 questions : 1. Wouldn't it be a good idea to generate a realdrums track before, at least everybody would have a good drumtrack to syncronise to. Or is the MIDI drumtrack from BIAB the final one ? 2. Who will do the mix ? k

I think he implied that who'll do mixing and producing is up for grabs Kara. My beginnings of the week are busy now (school) so I'll have time for these types of things later in the week usually.

.ogg seems to also be a good alternative for collabs. That format has worked well for Martin & I.

Rharv is right; EVERYTHING on this one is up for grabs. I just want to do some vocals and I have an idea about the format of the song (wich I'm working on...I'll post it when it's more complete) If you want a solo, leadvocal or whatever: be my guest and take it. I will try to puzzle all parts together and make one song out of everyones individual parts. If someone wants to do furter mixing and producing; it's up for grabs (I'll give it a try if no-one else wants it ) I have an idea with vocals and harmonys here, so please, if you've got a mic: sing and post (please ) Mike

Here's the bass and drums redone. They can be plugged in right along with the midi file. If you like it; cool If not, not big deal, we try it again.. I did the drums with realdrums and the bass myself (that's why it's so simple)

Mike, I you need somebody to do the mix, I could do it... To have an idea of quality of mix and sound, you could listen to this one : http://www.kara-moon.com/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1352.0;attach=1208It's a KM collab song that we are doing, contributions comming from all over the world, recorded with different software and hardware and contributed in different formats. k

Kara, you're on !!! btw: cool project you guys did there B-L-U-E-S if only my guitarplaying skills where up to level I'll post whichever tracks you'll need (and/or want) when the other musicians and vocalists have posted theirs and you have an idea which harmony part(s) you want from me. Rharv, I love the basstracks you layed out, unfortunatly couldn't fit them in 'cause of tempo difference (org=127, yours was 128.x ) Also the fact that you blended the drums in the mix made it hard for me to use your basslines, but I definatly would want to hear your basslines in the final production. (uhm, I guess that's all up to Kara now isn't it ) Anyway, I did a couple of vocal lines (which all can be replaced) and layed out a new songstructure for this track. All instuments (exepct Realdrums) are MIDI and are dying to be replaced. I also added a solospot for whoever wants to take up the challenge. As Kara will be doing the mixing she will also be the one that chooses the tracks to be used ( ) BiaB files will be posted shortly, MP3 file already posted at top of thread ( http://www.kara-moon.com/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1390.0;attach=1211We definatly need LOTS of vocal harmonys here, so PLEASE post your vocals Mike
