I posted my query on the Karma-Lab forum, but I thought that I should get as much input on this as possible.

In short,I cannot find my Xpanded sound upgrades....I thought I had the piano sound, but I was wrong.
Actually,I cannot find any of the Xpanded sounds whatsoever...I looked everywhere in every bank, but nothing.
The sequencer upgrade worked fine with the 2.0.0 update, but something seems terribly wrong and according to the media mode screen, the download of the PCM03 file was successful and and the Stereo Grand Piano automatically uploads every time I turn on the M3,but I can't find the f**king sounds....please help!

I'm going through the same frustration that I went through when I bought my first PC,as I seem to be way in over my head, because I have never dealt with an OS update on a hardware keyboard before.
I cannot even change the auto load function(only the Stereo Grand Piano will load)...not that this matters, because I cannot find ANY of the sounds from any of the 3 PCM files anyhow.

I'm aware that there is a 2.2 or 2.4 update...but that's just for the Karma function, yes?I don't know if I am doing something wrong,or if I am dealing with an OS bug,or if I just have a defective model?
I am so fried over this ordeal, that I do not even want to look at my M3 anymore....getting my PC up & running smoothly was bad enough.

Any suggestion, ideas, advice, input or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry to hear of your problems,  I started researching and found this, which seems to head down the path you are on..
http://www.kidnepro.com/blog/korg-m3-expanded-20-update-transition-info/

Their tutorials on their Korg page may offer clues too
http://www.kidnepro.com/KN/Korg/M3/M3_Main.html

and numerous youtube videos are available on using the new OS once installed.

Good Luck with it

Bob,

I checked out the links....they didn't specifically address my problem, but no matter.
As it turned out,I overlooked a simple, but important step in the updating process, which was that I had to update the OS upgrade twice.
The first update upgrades the sequencer functions & the second update loads the sounds....I had never come across this instruction in my readings, but a software developer on the Karma-Lab forum informed me of this.

Thanks very much for your efforts to help,as I really appreciate it! Cool

Hi Thom

Glad you found the problem
It isn't easy to give advice on a keyboard you don't know...
Do you know that there is allso a Korg forum (not karmalabs)
Find it here : http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/index.php
It has a special M3 section

Hope this helps
