Hi everyone!  I have been working about 60 hours a week lately, so haven't had much time for my recording, until today.  I decided I needed to do one with my playing some of the instruments, so you guys will know that I can play (at least a little).  Smiley

Sam Ash Music was selling an Ibanez acoustic guitar for $69 a few weeks ago, and since I didn't have a guitar, I bought one.  So I played a little acoustic solo in this one.  Violin used to be my main instrument (almost 40 years ago), and I haven't picked one up in over 15 years (mine was stolen).  A friend loaned me a violin, so I scratched out a short solo in this one.  I also played the piano solo in it.  I played the orchestral strings and brass, using Logic softsynth.  Everything else is BIAB Realtracks/Realdrums.  I hope you enjoy this one...

Here are the lyrics...

As The Days Go By
Lyrics and Music, Copyright Stephen W. Young

Reminders of good times
Of the days gone by
The music plays softly
Like a lullaby
Young couples in love
Like I am in love
And I am always
As the days go by
With you

Whenever I look back
On the days gone by
I see all the good things
Didn't pass me by
And some things I'd change
But I would remain
With you

--

Have a great day!

Steve

Lovely 'lazy' song. Soft lights. A candle-lit table for two Smiley

Seamless mix of realtracks, synth keyboard, and natural instruments. Sterling vocal, as usual - nice instrumental chops. Colour me impressed! Afro

Stephen, you know this my type of music so you knew that I would like it very much. Great sound!  You are one multi-talented musician, composer and lyricist.

I could really relate to the lyrics on this one.  I married my high school sweetheart 44 years ago and your lyrics fit exactly how I feel.  It hit home!

This is a keeper – two thumbs up.

Folderol,

True.  Laid back song of romance.  Ironic that the first song I post on here where I actually play a significant amount of the song, and it is referred to as a "lazy" song. Smiley
As always, I appreciate your kind words!

Oren,

Why thank you!  Glad you like it.  Very much appreciate your very kind words!

Azell,

Thank you so much!  Glad you like it!

Mario,

Thank you very much, my friend.  Since this is your kind of music, we ought to collaborate on one, one of these days.

 Cheesy
As we come to expect, another beautiful smooth song, my friend.  Grin

It's great to hear you finding time to use real instruments in there.
Strange that you mention the Ibanez ... I picked one up not so long ago and the sound from yours is exactly the same. It is quite distinctive. I have (far too) many guitars but none have that same tone.  Undecided

Excellent stuff, Steve.
