...just looking for clues...

« on: March 18, 2012, 12:32:30 AM »

Just a few shots of the Victoria neighbourhood my wife and I call home, taken out our balcony window.

The tall trees on the left (in the first shot) are called Sequoia.
That hedge runs the whole width of the block and is at least 25 feet (8 meters) tall and 15 feet (5 metres) thick, comprised of cedars and holly trees.
Beyond the hedge is an orchard. You can see the white blooms of one apple tree peaking up over the hedge.
Beyond the orchard is the old hospital where nursing nuns learned their craft. It's now an apartment building. You can see three pink flowering trees in the yard.

Looks like the accommodations of the royal household of the British Monarchy...a nice blend of nature & urban architecture. Cool

For reasons that are not completely clear, this city has developed a unique architectural style, largely defined by the prolific use of trees and plants.
(have I ever mentioned that Victoria has the largest population of of witches/wiccans/pagans of any city in Canada? ...nice folk, judging by the ones I've met)
