Comments on the blog

What happens:
I enter comment text
I select and option, e.g. Anonymous (also tried name/url)
I press publish (or preview)
I find myself back at the empty comments form.

Honestly, I have no idea. I just tried it and posted a "this is a comment" as anonymous and it posted the comment. I just got a notification advising of the post.

When I post as anonymous I get a "are you a robot" and have to click on a box to advise I'm a real person (and what do they know!).

Can someone else with more blogging knowledge help out here?
